For health plan members to take responsibility and an active role
in their health care, they need information. Avidyn Health provides
members with access to registered nurses and health care professionals
through our Health Information Line, a toll-free telephone service;
mailed educational information; and the dynamic use of our Internet.
Members can call a nurse for health information daily from 7
a.m. to 9 p.m. CST. This call line is a member information service
only and is not intended to be a triage service or to replace
or question the diagnosis of a physician or health care provider.
At all times, the provider remains responsible for the member’s
medical care.
Avidyn Health nurses use Krames-On-Demand, a Web-based member
education library of over 1,500 single-topic HealthSheets™
and over 1,700 Drug Information Sheets. This award-winning information
design combines illustrations and easy-to-read text to help our
nurses communicate key points to the member. HealthSheets™
are available in English and Spanish and can be mailed or faxed
to the member.
